So far, my favorite part about moving to Florida in the middle of a Wisconsin winter is that shorts, t-shirts, dresses, and bathing suits are on sale. It’s pretty cool!

It’s very cold in Wisconsin today, and although I am excited to go sledding, drink hot chocolate, and celebrate the holidays, I can’t wait to see palm trees and go surfing in the ocean.

Winter Break

It’s officially winter break! I just finished moving out of my apartment, and in a few hours, I’ll be heading home! My final exams went well, and I’m more excited than ever go to Walt Disney World next semester!

Also, I should mention… I have officially been selected to be a character performer!

I’m really excited for everything that the new year will bring, and I can’t wait to get to Florida!

Audition Day

Last Friday was the date of my audition. It was such an amazing day; I got to spend lots of quality time with Ben, see old friends and faculty from Lake Forest College, and dance in a beautiful studio in Chicago.

The day started off bright and early at 7:45. Ben and I drove from Waukesha to Lake Forest, and I convinced him that I needed to stop at McDonald’s for breakfast for good luck. We got to Lake Forest around 9:30, which gave me a chance to show Ben my old college campus and to see some old friends. It was so great to see the people I used to work with, my music advisor, and a handful of friends.

Our train left at 10:24, and the train ride was like a fun tour of the North Shore. I showed Ben all of my favorite restaurants, a bike trail I used to ride on, and more. It was so much fun to tell him stories and to reminisce.

When we got to Chicago, we ate lunch and headed toward the dance studio. We found it right away, and since we had spare time, we stopped at a little Hawaiian cafe and grabbed a delicious smoothie!

Once we went back to the studio, a line had formed outside the doors… and then a taxi dropped off our judges! I tried my hardest to remain calm, and I think I did a pretty good job.

The audition process was very exciting, and I had so much fun. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I’m really looking forward to finding out the results! It should be approximately 2 weeks, and I will find out the results via e-mail.

After the audition, Ben and I took a train back to Lake Forest and met up with some friends for dinner. We went to a lovely 24-hour restaurant and spent a few hours telling stories and laughing – a lot.

It was such an amazing day, and I’ll definitely remember it forever. Now all I have to do is wait!

A New Adventure

Hi everyone! I’ve created this blog to keep my friends and family up to date on my semester as a Disney College Program participant.

I was lucky enough to visit my boyfriend Ben a few times earlier this year while he completed the Disney College Program. It was my first time in Florida and at Disney World, but I fell in love with it and decided I’d like to participate in the program too. I finished my application and interview in late September and was accepted to the program two weeks later, in early October.

I am currently a student at Carroll University in Wisconsin. My hobbies include singing, dancing, playing guitar, writing songs, traveling, and running. I love seeing new places, and I especially love warm weather. I truly enjoy working with people and volunteering… and I love dresses. My boyfriend Ben is my best friend – and my role model. He has a great sense of humor and a strong sense of self. He’s also very generous and understanding, and the best boyfriend a girl could ask for!

Overall, I’m very excited to meet new people and to live in Florida from January through August of next year. Palm trees and sunshine, here I come! I’m really looking forward to learning a lot and having the experience of a lifetime.
